Astral Security’s alarm systems feature several arming modes allowing you to choose the desired level of security according to the time of day.
What is an arming mode?
An alarm system is usually composed of many kinds of detectors: door and window sensors, a motion detector, a glass-break detector, just to name a few. These detectors form several different security barriers against intruders and can be activated individually according to your needs.
The ARMED mode activates all of the alarm system’s detectors. This arming mode is generally used when no one is home.
The PARTIAL mode activates the perimeter, that is, doors and windows. This mode allows you to move freely within your home while still having a large part of the system activated.
The NIGHT mode, as its name implies, is generally used at night. It activates the perimeter as well as the motion detector in the basement. This way, you can move freely on the main floors. For example, going to the bathroom at night on the main floor is OK, but any entry through the basement or through windows or doors will be detected.
